My partner was in denial that anything was wrong with our a/c.
I knew something was wrong more than 2 weeks before because I was picking up on strange air patterns.
Some of the rooms in our house were cooler than others & the a/c sounded as if it was struggling to keep up. My partner thought I was overthinking things & creating concerns in my head, however I knew better. Instead of creating an fight, I let the situation play out. I knew something was wrong & I’d tried to warn him, but he was going to have to find out the difficult way. I sat back & waited a few afternoons until finally, the time came where my partner realized that something was wrong. There was an strange smell coming through the air vents. The smell was difficult to pinpoint, however it was the most comparable to dirty laundry. The smell started out faint, however gradually got worse as the hours passed, finally, my partner confessed that he was wrong & that we needed to contact an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional. While I was disappointed that something was wrong, I was happy about being right. The Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional told us that we had moisture forming in our HVAC duct & the smell was carrying throughout the house. If left untreated, mold would begin to form. The Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional checked for leaks & fixed everything he could, but he also suggested that we have our HVAC duct professionally cleared to eliminate the smell.
