Now I have been to enough houses, or homes, to visit people or for business.
Usually, I end up in typical homes with all the standard fixtures and fittings. I pay extra attention when I walk into mansions because some homes have unique architecture, especially aged ones. A recent visit to a mega-mansion was quite an eye-opener about all the possibilities one can do with money. As a contractor, I have the unique opportunity to inspect a house for renovation and detail everything that needs attention for restoration. This particular building had three floors with triple volume and more than one air conditioning system. That surprised me a bit, but it wasn’t uncommon, it was just rare, and I had never met an HVAC technician who worked on such a house. I bet the cost of HVAC maintenance or major ac repair in such a house was quite high. But before we began the renovation, I met the HVAC professional assigned to reposition the HVAC unit on the first and second floors. These were the floors sharing the same air conditioner. Additionally, the air duct proved costly to maintain, so the client wanted ductwork removed and replaced with a modern smart system that was more maintenance friendly. The client also preferred to have the one-off use ac filters in an effort to improve air quality in the mansion. Once we had the home services part figured out and the client was happy to get help with indoor comfort, I got to work and let the HVAC company do its part.
