When my job moved to a new building I was hoping it would be an improvement but I should have known better, the outdated building had shoddy plumbing plus the paint was peeling off of the walls so I thought it couldn’t get any worse, boy was I mistaken.
The “new” building is certainly as step down, it only has one toilet for males plus females, no cut room plus the Heating & Air Conditioning system doesn’t work, and at least in the outdated locale my associate and I had reasonable heat plus a/c.
After a few mornings of freezing, some of my coworkers brought in some space heaters. The office was so small that a space heating system per room was more than enough to keep us warm; But then the electrical fuses started popping everytime someone jammed in a space heater. This would turn off all of the ipads so management said no more space heaters. They better do something fast about the Heating & Air Conditioning system then or I feel there will be a mutiny soon; My wonderful friend and I all come to work with our winter season blazers plus fingerless gloves on plus my associate and I are still freezing. I’ve started bringing a blanket to work too. I get that the company needs to save money but it can’t be legal for them to make us work like this can it? I’ve already started looking for another job. I’ll take anything with similar spend money plus a laboring Heating & Air Conditioning system, however since when is “heated work environment” a perk of a job. I always thought it was just to be expected for any office job.
