So this is my first July in our new home in a completely different region.
And I’m not sure that we made the right move.
My wife tells me I’m crazy and it’s too late anyway. We replaced the residential HVAC in our old house and then sold it for a ton of money. And we did buy this place and move more than fifteen hundred miles south. But I’m ready to turn around and go home. I mean, I knew the Summer was going to be plenty different. Yet, I had no clue about the level of heat and humidity that comes with living in this place. We had visited many times prior to moving here and it was just paradise. Of course, none of those visits came during the months from June through September. So I was willing to give up the Winter and the gas furnace to move to all that great weather. This has been my wife’s dream since the kids were in highschool. She is from the south and moved north after we got married. I’m from that part of the country and went to work there right after college. Moving here was something that I really did want for my wife. But wow, I can’t believe that I pretty much have to stay inside the central air conditioning from late morning til early evening. If I want to golf, it’s to get there at the crack of dawn. And even then, I don’t get off the course before I’m dripping wet by 11 in the morning. We’re here now so I’m going to make the best of it. However, I sure am ready for September to get here.
