I should have brought my heater camping with me

I love camping with my family.

  • It is one of my favorite things to do.

We try to go camping at least twice a year. It is a lot of fun, and it helps us relax. We have a fifth wheel that we camp in. I am not brave enough to camp in a tent for more than just a few nights. It is just too uncomfortable. We usually go camping in August and September. It is the best time in our area because there are not very many people camping at that time, and it is cooler outside than in June or July. This year, we went camping a little later than usual. We went in October. It was the second week of October, and it was starting to get cooler outside. My husband told me that I should bring my space heater from the house just in case the camper got cold. The furnace in the camper quit years ago, so if we want to heat the camper we have to use other sources of heat. I did not listen to my husband however because I thought that it would warm enough. I made a big mistake. Now, I realize that campers get colder much faster than our house does. It was about forty degrees outside, and it had been forty degrees many nights already, so I thought that the camper would still be warm enough just like our house. I was totally wrong. The camper got down to forty degrees. It was freezing. My husband eventually decided to just buy a space heater for the rest of our camping trip. I felt so bad. I learned my lesson though. I will definitely be bringing my space heater next time even if it is in September.
