I have consistently had trouble with humidity in my basement.
My hubby as well as I moved down south a few years ago, as well as it was quite the change in climate.
We both grew up way up north, so my buddy and I were used to the cold. It absolutely does not get very frigid down here though. It is quite warm most of the year. It is also very humid here. I feel that I am used to the heat now, but I do not feel that I will ever be able to get used to the humidity. My hubby is the same way. We have tried so several things to get rid of the humidity in our house. For some reason, our air conditioner does not do very well getting rid of humidity on its own, so my buddy and I started using a dehumidifier. It is the only thing that absolutely helps. Our dehumidifier was seasoned when my buddy and I started using it, so I did not expect it to work very well, however to my surprise, it actually worked fantastic for a couple of years. We literally used it year round, as well as it did a fantastic task. This year, it finally gave up the ghost. I noticed that it started collecting less as well as less water, and eventually, I went to empty it just like I do everyday, as well as there was no water in it. It was also quite humid in the apartment again, so I knew it was time to buy a new dehumidifier. I found the same one however a newer model, as well as I ordered it. It is supposed to be here tomorrow.
