I have always had trouble with humidity in my basement.
- My hubby plus I moved down south a few years ago, plus it was quite the change in temperature.
My pal and I both grew up way up north, so my pal and I were used to the cold. It really does not get very frigid down here though. It is quite hot most of the year. It is also very humid here. I know that I am used to the heat now, but I do not know that I will ever be able to get used to the humidity. My hubby is the same way. My pal and I have tried so many things to get rid of the humidity in our house. For some reason, our air conditioning does not do very well getting rid of humidity on its own, so my pal and I started using a dehumidifier. It is the only thing that really helps. Our dehumidifier was old when my pal and I started using it, so I did not expect it to work very well, but to my surprise, it absolutely worked great for a couple of years. My pal and I literally used it year round, plus it did a great job. This year, it finally provided up the ghost. I noticed that it started collecting less plus less water, eventually, I went to empty it just like I do everyday, plus there was no water in it. It was also quite humid in the household again, so I knew it was time to buy a new dehumidifier. I found the same one but a newer model, plus I ordered it. It is supposed to be here tomorrow.
