I’m a middle school teacher and I have been getting ready for the modern year.
It’s been a rush to try and make my classroom look as presentable and as inviting as possible.
This, along with needing so much time for lesson planning of the first couple weeks and laying through meetings to acquaint everyone with the rules and procedures and the schedule for the year, has kept me always busy, however when I get a opportunity to rest at my desk and plan, I am truly appreciative of the modern window a/c units that were installed over the summer. These models seem to be far more powerful and effective than the old ones. The old a/c units were always on the fritz for some reason or another. They would drip condensation on the floor. They never seemed to be powerful enough to cool the entire room. The disinfect filter light would be on all the time despite the fact that the filter was cleaned properly. They just seemed to be a mess. I wasn’t even expecting them to be updated, but I was particularly truly delighted when they were, even though I set the same temperature on the control unit as I did with the old ones, now it particularly feels like my desired temperature is reached! The air conditioner is particularly on the opposite side of the room from my desk, and yet I feel truly comfortable, which was not the case with the old ones. I guess it’s the little things that you need to care about at a small school like ours.
