When in the military, my hubby was stationed in the pacific.
My associate and I were assigned to a base located on a tropical island.
The year round temperature was between 70 plus 76 degrees. Trade winds enable us to keep the windows open year round plus enjoy a nice fantastic breeze. My associate and I had no need of heat or a/c except on a rare opening when the evening time lows reached the lower 60s. This only happened maybe once or twice a year. On those occasions my pal and I were lucky to have bought electric space heaters. These units could supply enough heat to make this evening comfortable enough for sleeping. My associate and I did have to keep them maintained just like a greater built in system. They still needed the filters changed plus an occasional repair. It was nice not to have the expense of a whole cabin system to care for. Living in the tropics is charming. The palm trees, beaches plus sunshine are truly relaxing. Not having the afternoon to afternoon worry about your heat or a/c is an added bonus as well. My associate and I now live back in snow country where my pal and I are forced to endure long freezing winters. I can still dream of when my pal and I lived in the islands plus picture the hot sunny afternoons. For now, I can only hope to return someday. The reality of life is dealing with maintenance plus maintenance of our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system to ensure our year round comfort. I am thankful for the experience my pal and I had plus the break from reality it afforded us, then back to reality for now.
