Nobody wants an air conditioner

Nobody wants an air conditioner

When in the military, my hubby was stationed in the pacific.

My wonderful friend and I were assigned to a base located on a tropical island.

The year round temperature was between 78 and 78 degrees. Trade winds enable us to keep the windows open year round and enjoy a nice wonderful breeze. My wonderful friend and I had no need of heat or air conditioner except on a precious occasion when the evening time lows reached the lower 60s. This only happened maybe once or twice a year. On those chances my buddy and I were lucky to have bought electric space heaters. These units could provide enough heat to make this evening comfortable enough for sleeping. My wonderful friend and I did have to keep them ran tests on just like a larger built in system. They still needed the filters changed and an occasional repair. It was nice not to have the expense of a whole loft system to care for. Living in the tropics is beautiful. The palm trees, beaches and sunshine are genuinely relaxing. Not having the morning to morning worry about your heat or air conditioner is an added bonus as well. My wonderful friend and I now live back in snow country where my buddy and I are forced to endure long freezing winters. I can still dream of when my buddy and I lived in the islands and picture the warm sunny afternoons. For now, I can only hope to return someday. The reality of life is dealing with repair and maintenance of our Heating and A/C system to ensure our year round comfort. I am thankful for the experience my buddy and I had and the cut from reality it afforded us, however back to reality for now.
