I was working the phones for a small Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C company during the one of our busy seasons, and whenever people go from cooling to heat or heating to cooling, things seem to split down.
This fall season seemed especially busy because my good friend and I were getting winter time blizzards as well as it wasn’t even Thanksgiving yet.
When I got yet another call about a corporation without any heat I told them it would be a few afternoons. I made a light comment about all of the cats barking in the background as well as the caller informed me that they were a no-kill critter shelter. When I told my boss about the call, she said she would go to the shelter himself instantly, and neither of us wanted to think of all those poor critter chilly in the cold; She told me that when she got there, the staff as well as volunteers had pets under their coats trying to keep them warm. They had one space furnace for the bigger cats but everyone was frigid as well as uncomfortable. Thankfully, the furnace was a quick fix as well as she was able to moderate the venue up in no time. While she was telling me this I saw some movement under her sweater. She then reached in a pulled out a small mutt of a cat. She said, “Meet Scruffy, the newest member of our heating as well as cooling team”. I was so excited. This was genuinely the best afternoon at labor I had ever had. The boss also made a note in the critter shelter’s file that they are to acquire all repairs at cost, meaning our company won’t make a profit off of them.
