Without air conditioner in the summer, mold can thrive

When I was completing my graduate degree in public health, one of my group assignments was to research weird types of mold & its effects.

This sounds like a terribly boring topic, & to be fair it was.

Even though it was boring, this information was useful to me. When I first moved to the southeastern region of the country, I moved into a small however affordable apartment. My rent was cheap, however with that came some issues. There was no one residing in the apartment for months prior to my arrival, so the air conditioner was not running at all, but due to the humid weather conditions, there was mold build up in my apartment that I was unaware of. I developed an intense cough, & finally figured out what the culprit was. Mold is a fungal growth that certainly likes a damp environment. If you live in a humid area, that creates moisture in your property automatically. Moisture in your property becomes a perfect breeding ground for mold. Mold can cause health problems like coughing, watery eyup, difficulty breathing, & more. Do not panic if you also live in the southeastern region of the country. As long as you get routine repair done on your a/c unit, wash your a/c filters, & run your a/c in the most warm & humid months you will help prevent mold from growing in your home. Air conditioning removes moisture from the air, & that is what mold loves. If you detach the moisture with A/C, the mold will have nowhere to grow.
