When I arrived to whisk her away that Wednesday afternoon, she was actually blown away
When I planned the awesome surprise getaway for my wife and I, I didn’t let any detail get by me. I love to do cool, romantic stuff with my partner but haven’t really been too successful with the surprises. The couple of surprise parties I’ve planned were sniffed out before a single guest hid inside the central air conditioning of our home. So with this trip, I wanted to make everything perfect. The kids are now out of the house and we are both bumming about that a bit. Since we both go to work inside the commercial HVAC of our respective office buildings, that routine hasn’t changed. But it still feels weird when we come home and it’s just us. We’ve been thinking about replacing the residential HVAC and doing some other renovations in order to sell the house. Yet, that too was a hard thing to even consider. So planning a five day getaway was my way of saying, it’s all going to work out because we are still us. I contacted her boss to arrange for the days off and I called my daughter for guidance on packing a bag for my wife. I even called the resort and spa where we were staying to make sure that the commercial HVAC was on point. My wife just hates getting sun all day only to come back to a hotel room with poor air conditioning. When I arrived to whisk her away that Wednesday afternoon, she was actually blown away. The five day stay was perfect and just what we needed to remind ourselves that indeed, everything will be alright as long as we’re together.
