I am pretty sure that most older people keep their house relatively warm.
I totally understand it, and I am sure that I will do the same one day, but my grandmother takes it too far.
I cannot believe that she has not had a heat stroke in her house yet. It is literally ninety-five degrees in her house during the wintertime. I can hardly stand to be there for more than just a few minutes because of how warm it is. She gets upset that I do not stay for long periods of time, so I tried to explain to her that her house is just too warm, but she did not understand. She thought that I was being ridiculous. I try to invite her to our house as often as possible, so that I can see her. But, she is always complaining about how cold my house is and how my kids are going to get sick because it is so cold in my house. My house is literally seventy-two degrees, and she thinks that it is freezing. I do not understand it, and I do not think that I ever will. I guess I will just have to get used to sweating like a pig when I am at her house. My husband refuses to go with me at all unless it is just to drop something off to her because he just cannot stand the heat. I opened a window in the living room to let some cool air in last time that I was there, and to my surprise, she did not notice. I feel bad, but I just can’t help but do something.
