My kids are too sensitive to weather change and this was something I could not compromise on
My kids were excited about moving to the cabin in the province. They had lost their dad and my husband a few months back and we all missed so much. One of his final wishes was for us to live in the farm house where he grew up as a kid. He had wanted us to move together but unfortunately he didn’t manage to beat the cancer that he had battled for 5 years. With everyone yearning for a new life, and a chance to reconnect with him, the kids and I agreed to move at the end of the school year. My husband’s parents were still alive and they were eager to have us move with them. They had wanted this for so long but medical commitments as well as school had pushed us to postpone each time. SInc the time was right, we packed our remaining belongings that I hadn’t sold and happily moved back to the province. The first agenda was to have Mr. Stone, the town’s oldest HVAC business owner, send his team of HVAC techs to examine the old HVAC system. We had already discussed how we would be replacing the old boiler and air conditioner with a modern unit. My kids are too sensitive to weather change and this was something I could not compromise on. My inlaws were supportive and even helped me with the negotiations. WIthin the first week, the house had a new HVAC system installed and the HVAC equipment worked perfectly. When it isn’t too cold though, we use the old wood stove as this gives us a sense of togetherness when we gather around the fireplace.
